I was visiting friends in Lethbridge and we decided to get takeout orders from various restaurants to satisfy everyone's taste. I ordered the Steak Bombay from Cheesecake Cafe which was supposed to be a steak topped with sauteed garlic shrimp and scallops in a mild curry cream sauce. What we got was a dry steak. Period. This was MOST disappointing, although the baked potato was quite good. We telephoned to complain and they offered to make another but the idea of driving back there and then eating on my own after the others in our party had already eaten was not appealing. They did refund the difference in price between what we ordered and what we got (to be sent as a gift certificate) but overall this was a very poor experience and the Cheesecake Cafe has probably lost 6 customers. I doubt I'll ever go back to use the gift certificate and nobody else in our party was too keen. In the restaurant business you really do need to look after the little things - like getting the customer's order right. They took the order correctly because they charged us for it. They just didn't deliver the goods. And what they did deliver wasn't up to par.
